How Precious

6th May 10

I have a cat called Precious who can be quite annoying with her going in and out of the house constantly.  Any time she wants to go out she stands in front of the door and just stares at it expectantly until someone eventually sighs and gets up to let her out for the fiftieth time.

On my way home from work today, there was very heavy traffic and the bus was at a standstill for way too long. One by one, passengers started to ask the bus driver to be left out, thinking it’d be faster just to walk home. I watched people gradually start to abandon ship, and eventually, long after everyone else (due to my inherent distaste for standing up), I found myself at the bus door — but just silently waiting for the driver to open it so I could hop out. Perhaps rudely, I didn’t say anything and I didn’t look at him.  I just stood there, and if the driver hadn’t opened it, I could actually see myself starting to paw at the door or even miaowing* aimlessly into the middle distance.

What does this mean? Owner is to Pet as Bus Driver is to Passenger? Would this only be during rush hour?

*Yes, that is officially the correct spelling.
